Balloon Gender Reveal Photoshoot
When Real Mama Amy Pina found out she was having her second baby, she knew right away she wanted to announce the gender of the baby with a cute reveal. She first found out the baby’s gender, hired a photographer and had her husband and son participate in a photoshoot, releasing blue balloons. She revealed to her family and friends by sending them the photos!
Inspiration from Pinterest plus an beautiful family, some balloons and a picturesque backdrop equals an adorable gender reveal that this family will be able to look back on for years to come.
What made you want to do a gender reveal?
I wanted to share the gender of our baby in a fun exciting way. I knew I wanted to know the gender prior to the reveal (I just couldn’t wait!) so I looked for ideas that would surprise the viewer rather than my husband and I.
What was the theme of the reveal? Where did you find your inspiration?
I don’t think I really had a theme for the reveal but I found the idea on Pinterest. It popped up and I saved it right away because I loved the idea. The idea that I saw only had the new mom in the picture but I wanted my husband and son involved so I tweaked the idea just a little.
What is one aspect of the reveal you are particularly proud of?
I am really proud of the way the pictures turned out! Our photographer was amazing and was really able to capture some awesome shots! It poured as soon as we arrived to the location but we decided to wait it out. I am sure glad we made that decision.
What was your favorite moment?
My favorite moment was letting go of the balloons and hanging on the color for the gender of our baby. It was a great way to showcase the gender and share with our family and friends. Oh, and who can forget the part where the balloons got stuck in the tree? Oops!
Was there anything you wish you would have done differently? If so what?
Not a thing! I love every moment and every picture of that photo shoot. It ended up being a great evening and the pictures turned out so good!
Advice you would give to others considering a gender reveal….
Find an idea you like and run with it! Don’t be afraid to change a thing here or there to make it your own. Oh, and check the weather before booking an outdoor photo shoot.
