Frankie’s Sesame Street 1st Birthday Party

Sesame Street meets Staten Island in this awesome and incredibly creative first birthday party for little Frankie. Mama Say What?! reader Danielle threw this fun party for her son’s birthday, complete with an awesome venue, DJ and more than one hundred of Frankie’s closest friends.

I am in love with the venue and the primary colors. The whole party came together just right with some creative DIY projects and fun for all ages.

What inspired the theme of your child’s party?

I wanted something easily recognizable and a theme that had a lot of characters, colors and ideas for decorations. Plus, Sesame Street has always been Frankie’s favorite.

What was one element of the party that you are particularly proud of?

I absolutely loved the street sign that my husband made and the personalized banner he designed. My centerpieces were also something I enjoyed making.

Did you work with any vendors (photographer, cake maker, location etc.)? If so, who? And what did you like about them?

Our location was the Loft at Ariana’s, here on Staten Island. I loved that it had exposed brick and bright red exposed pipes in the ceiling. It matched my theme.

We used tons of balloons to decorate the room from Chocolate & Balloons galore, and she also made us Sesame Street chocolates for the tables and Mother Mousse Bakery made delicious Sesame Street cookies that I handed out as favors.

We used A Touch of Class DJs. Our awesome DJ had the kids entertained the entire time with games and give-outs and music.

The cake and smash cake was made by Bueno Bakery.

What was your favorite moment/part of the party?

My favorite part was just sitting back and seeing all my planning unfold. The day went perfectly and everyone enjoyed the food, the music and it was nice to have more than one hundred people there showing love to my baby boy.

What was your birthday boy’s favorite part?

I think his favorite part was his cake! He sat so quietly in his high chair and just dug in!

Can you give any advice to mamas that are planning a party for their little one?

Enjoy the moment— it goes by so fast. Take a ton of pictures so that when your little one is older they can actually see what you did for them on their first birthday.

Check out these amazing details!
