Munchkin Diaper Pail Review & Giveaway

If you’re a mama, you are probably familiar with the Munchkin brand. Their products are sold at retail stores and pharmacies such as Walmart, Kmart, CVS and Rite Aid.

I personally have purchased numerous Munchkin brand items for my two kids in the last two years. We have the wipes warmer, corner bath organizer, safety bath ducky, deluxe bottle brush, snack catcher, snack dispenser, deluxe dishwasher basket, pacifier clip, auto seat protector, teething rings, a few sippy cups, and their award winning Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail just to name a few (or a lot!). I love the brand – it’s cost-friendly and cute, and I have never had a single problem with any of those purchases.

As a mama of two little ones in diapers, I know that changing them stinks… literally.

We were given a used diaper pail of another brand when our daughter was born in 2011. It was a hassle having to twist and tear, and reload the bags. Not to mention it didn’t help with the odor control.

We got rid of it after a couple of months and just threw the diapers in plastic bags throughout the day. Then we would make a trip to the garbage can outside at the end of the day. When they were really stinky ones, we’d take them out immediately. It was really a hassle.

I found out about the Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail and was immediately intrigued. They have a whole Arm & Hammer line which is fantastic if you’re familiar with the stink that comes hand in hand with your little bundle of joy. I decided to put it to the real test!

There is a cartridge in the lid that holds some Arm & Hammer baking soda, which is known for being a great odor neutralizer. It’s refillable, and comes pre-filled when you purchase the pail. When you close the lid, the pail seals to keep the odor in as well.

Now the big question you’re all wondering… does it really keep in the stink?

YES!

I put plenty of stinky, poopy diapers in there and you would never know it. Even when opening the lid there isn’t much of an odor. Opening the door on the front, though, does let out a bit of the smell – but the only time I need to do that is when I am ready to remove and change the bag.

And removing the bag is pretty simple. It does use special bags, but they are actually extremely easy to use and fairly affordable. No tearing, twisting, and tying involved. You pull up the tabs on top and snap the opening of the bag together to take it out to the trash.

It’s super simple and it’s supposed to hold about 25 diapers. Between my two children, we manage to fill it to capacity in less than a week. The pail comes with a refill when you purchase it, but I am still trying to find more refills locally. I checked my local Walmart, but they are out of stock at this time.

Would I recommend this diaper pail to another mama? Of course! It’s a great pail! Munchkin has a real winner with this one! Munchkin Diaper Pail Giveaway

  5. We registered for this diaper pail when pregnant with my son. It was great at keeping in the odors. I am in the market to get another one because the lid broke after 2 years of constant use. I would definitely recommend this diaper pail even though ours broke.

  6. My SiL uses one for her boys, and it’s pretty great!

  7. I used this pail with my son and liked it. But when my daughter was born it I switched to the diaper genie because it was bigger and the bags were cheaper.
