Thanksgiving Stuffing

Whether you call it dressing or stuffing, no Thanksgiving table is complete without this classic bread dish!

Any type of bread can be used— white, wheat, homemade, or gluten-free.

My friend Britney introduced me to her version of this dish almost 3 years ago, when she put together an early Thanksgiving feast for her husband and his fellow Marines who would be deployed before Thanksgiving Day arrived.

I’ve been making it ever since, and it always gets rave reviews!

 Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped celery
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 9 cups soft bread, finely diced/crumbled
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • Poultry Seasoning to taste

Directions:

Brown onions and celery in butter in skillet.

Stir in 1/3 of bread.

Add poultry seasoning, then transfer to a large bowl and toss with remaining 2/3 of bread.

Once the stuffing is mixed together, it can be served warm as a side dish, or baked inside the turkey.
