2 (or 3) Ingredient Cookies

This recipe has been making its rounds on both Pinterest and within my group of mama friends. We’ve all been trying it and the overall consensus is that they are delicious, easy and healthy! And YES – there are just two ingredients. And they’re COOKIES. They’re super easy and healthy (even if you add some chocolate for a mix-in). Mamas and kiddos alike can feel good (and not guilty) about devouring a few in one sitting. 2 (or 3) Ingredient Cookies Recipe


  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats

This is all you’ll need to make the cookies, but if you’re feeling like they might need a little kick, add one or two of the mix-ins below:

Optional Mix-ins:

  • Raisins
  • Nuts
  • Cinnamon
  • Dried fruit
  • Sprinkles
  • Chocolate chips
  • M&M’s (I know…the list is getting a little unhealthy…)


  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • Mash the bananas (ripe bananas work best, but you could make them work with unripe ones).

  • Combine the mashed bananas and oatmeal and mix well. Add any mix-ins at this point. Just eye ball it and add what you think looks good.
  • Drop by teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees (I baked mine for 15).

After tasting these, I was pretty impressed and so was my two year old. I made half a batch with some chocolate chips and the other half with a handful of raisins and a sprinkle of cinnamon. I’ve been storing them in my fridge and they’re slowly disappearing.

Looking back, I’m realizing now they were a little more wet than regular cookies, probably because I used 2 ½ bananas and didn’t increase the amount of oatmeal. Silly, silly me. Such a rookie mistake for a veteran baker! It might take you a few tries to come up with what consistency you like. And of course, because all bananas are different sizes, you might need to slightly adjust your recipe each time.

A good tip is that when your bananas get super ripe, peel them and store them in the freezer if you’re not quite ready to bake. That way, they won’t go bad and you’ll have the bananas ripe and ready to use when you’re ready for them.

  2. My daughter would LOVE these cookies. Bananas are her favorite food ever. She’s barely 25lbs but can suck down 3 in one sitting. I think I’m going to put a few of these in her Easter basket instead of jelly beans.
