Ju-Ju-Be Be Prepared Diaper Bag Review

Although I am a new mama, as a former nanny I’ve been carrying a diaper bag for the past four years. Through trial and error, I have determined that I prefer a messenger-style bag that has both a long strap as well as shoulder straps.

Originally I had been lusting over a Petunia Picklebottom diaper bag (don’t we all?). However, when I came across the Ju-Ju-Be brand I was very intrigued and went to our local Buy Buy Baby to do a side-by-side comparison of the two brands.

The Ju-Ju-Be Be Prepared diaper bag has been a perfect fit for our family. It is very lightweight and is so well thought out that I cannot come up with any complaints (there is even a built-in sunglasses holder). The biggest benefit is that I can carry a full day’s worth of cloth diapers (six at this point) and still fit Elizabeth’s toys, a light blanket, and a change of clothes in the main compartment.

  • A light colored interior so you can actually see what’s inside.
  • Fully machine-washable. (Diaper bags get dirty so quickly once your baby starts solids.)
  • Large interior pocket with gusseted sides.
  • Mesh interior pockets.
  • The bag is very lightweight, at just 3.15 pounds.
  • There is a dedicated exterior mama pocket. (No more losing your keys or Chapstick in the main compartment!)
  • An exterior changing pad pocket. The germy changing pad never needs to touch your babies’ clean diapers and toys.
  • A wonderful selection of fabric designs.
  • Insulated side bottle pockets with magnetic closures (no loud Velcro).
  • Soft, stain resistant Teflon coated fabric.
  • A Ju-Ju-Be exclusive: AgION Antimicrobial Lining on both the changing pad and the lining of the diaper bag.
  • The short handles can be tucked in to the exterior pockets if you are only using the long messenger strap.

  • It’s not a discrete messenger bag; it is large at 18.5” x 14” x 6.5”.
  • It is expensive, at $180.00.

I am very happy with my diaper bag investment and know it will still be very functional when we decide to have baby number two.

Where I bought it: Online at Nordstrom.com (free 2 day shipping!)
How much I paid: $180.00 plus tax.
Average price range: $180.00 plus tax.
Where is it available: Amazon, Ju-Ju-Be’s website, and Nordstrom

  1. Thanks for doing this! I have the Be All from babysteals , but sometimes I felt like there just wasn’t enough room. I could fit about the same amount of stuff it just was squished haha!

Very pretty print :) I think this bag might be a must have purchase when I get pregnant again :)

  2. Jessica, you are quite welcome! It was definitely a splurge, but there is just SO much room (and it’s so cute). Even when it’s loaded down, I never feel overwhelmed by how much stuff is stashed inside :)

  3. Thank you for your great review. I’d like to know if the shoulder strap is comfortable. If you’re carrying it for awhile and it’s heavy… does the strap dig into your shoulder??

  4. Jessica, the long strap is actually quite comfy! It has a memory foam pad in it.
