Easy, 20-Minute Tomato Sauce

This easy tomato sauce is yummy and so quick to make. Easy, 20-Minute Tomato Sauce

It comes in really handy if you don’t have any jarred sauce around the house and you can use it for so many different meals or just serve it over some pasta. It also makes a really yummy dipping sauce.

You probably already have the ingredients in your kitchen! Of course, fresh oregano and basil are going to taste best, but if you only have dried on hand, that works just fine too!

I adapted this recipe from one on the fabulous cooking blog, Skinnytaste.

  • Olive oil
  • 2-3 cloves garlic
  • 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 2 tbsp basil
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • salt and pepper

Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium-high heat. Dice the garlic into very small pieces and add to the pot. Sauté until golden.

Add the cans of crushed tomatoes and mix well to pull the garlic up from the bottom of the pot.

Add the salt, pepper, oregano, basil and parsley. Stir well.

Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
