E’s Favorite Books - Age 20 Months

E still loves flipping through her books as much as having them read to her. Every evening we snuggle up together and read a few books before bed. These eight are Es current favorites and must be read every night-thankfully they are all short!

Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andrae. A silly, rhyming tale about a giraffe who finds his own rhythm. The illustrations are cute, too!

The Very Snowy Christmas by Diana Hendry. E rediscovered this book during our move in June and has fallen in love with it. It is a quick read, and doesn’t rhyme (which is a nice change from our normal repertoire)

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. E loves to shout ‘BOOM BOOM’ and ‘OH NO’ when all the letters fall. We sing the alphabet song afterwards, too.

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. Lovingly called “Moon”, E enjoys emphatically saying “hushhhhh” with the old lady and pointing out various objects in the room.

Painting with Picasso, In the Garden with Van Gogh, Dancing with Degas, and A Picnic with Monet, all by Julie Merberg. Adorable poems to coincide with a famous painting from each of the four artists. There are a few more books in the series, which are also very cute. E tries to request each book by name- ‘go’ (Van Gogh), ‘coco’ (Picasso), ‘day-gahhhh’ (Degas), and ‘mo’ (Monet). I love that she is able to see such beautiful and different works of art each day!
