Finding Motivation

The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”- Mark Twain

This quote can be applied to many situations in daily life and is a great foundation for fitness and health. Finding the will to get started toward a healthier life is a challenge, but you can do it. The first step is the hardest.

Everyone finds motivation in someone or something. Each person has a different drive, and that is part of what makes you the person you are.

My motivation comes from wanting to be healthy and energetic for my daughter. I want to be able to run after her, jump with her and hula hoop alongside her when she is older. I want to do all of these things without losing my breath or needing to take a five minute breather; and because of fitness and eating well, I can.

I make a daily commitment to myself and I live a clean lifestyle. I feel great and I am happy with “me.” Yes, there is always room for improvement in my physical appearance and I strive to always work hard at it. But for my daily living, I am happy, healthy and strong.

You need to find your motivation and get started. It is okay if yesterday you ate some bad foods. But that does not mean you should wait until the next Monday to get started, you should start right now. Today is a new day and it can be the beginning of many great days.

Live healthy and be happy!
