Lilah’s Ice Cream Shoppe Party

You have to check out what this mama did for her daughter’s first birthday! Miriam planned an amazing Ice Cream Shoppe birthday party for her youngest daughter Lilah.

It is such a timeless theme, and I love the colors and all of the details that went into the planning of this party. Lilah is a lucky girl!

What inspired the theme of your child’s party?

Pinterest! I started pinning all of these adorable ice cream parties and I couldn’t stop! I thought it was such a fun theme that I had to do it. Once I had a theme in place, I started looking on Etsy for ideas and found this adorable fabric. The fabric spurred all of the colors and ideas, and Lilah’s Ice Cream Shoppe party was born.

What is one element of the party that you are particularly proud of?

There were so many elements about the party that I loved, but since I am supposed to pick one thing I will say the Sundae Bar. My husband and I made a really fun awning for the bar and I just loved the way it turned out!

Did you work with any vendors? If so, who? And what did you like about them?

I worked with some AMAZING vendors. In fact, if it weren’t for a couple of my vendors I don’t know what direction Lilah’s party might have gone!

I worked with Alex from Alex Tebow Designs, and she was simply amazing. She was quick with a response and her ideas were spot on what I was thinking. I loved the way all of the paper products turned out and I seriously cannot say enough great things about her work!

I also worked with Susan from A Cookie Jar. She made custom cookies that were the most adorable and absolutely delicious cookies I have EVER had. She was so awesome to work with and even opened up her shop while on vacation just so I could double my order! I used the cookies on the cake as well as on display and got so many compliments on them.

I made the mistake of not hiring a professional photographer for Lilah’s actual party which I deeply regret now, but I did work with Kiley from KJ Photography on Lilah’s one year and cake smash pictures. We were able to use the photos for décor around the hall, and also for the water bottles and thank you cards.

What was your favorite moment/part of the party?

I loved when people first started to arrive and were just in awe of the transformation that the party had taken in the little township hall where we had Lilah’s party. Everyone was so excited, especially the kids!

What was your birthday girl’s favorite part?

She loved all of the kids, and smashing the cake of course!

Can you give any advice to mothers that are planning a party for their little one?

Start early! I started planning three months in advance and it ended up working out great. And don’t sweat the small stuff… there are always going to be little glitches in your plans, but just be able to run with it and everything will turn out great!
