L’s Train 3rd Birthday Party

A few months ago I shared this mama’s elder son’s Superhero birthday party. Once again, she didn’t disappoint with this amazing party. Her attention to detail is always so much fun to see. We had a blast running around and exploring the train engines and cars… and of course, the train ride itself really was a highlight of the day. For those of you in the southern California area, I encourage you to check out Travel Town. The kiddos love it!

Hope you enjoy this party inspiration as much as we enjoyed the party!

What inspired the theme of the party?

Our son is obsessed with Thomas the Train so when I asked him what type of birthday he wanted he, of course, said “Thomas!”

What was one element of the party that you are particularly proud of?

I was really proud of our goodie bags. I had purchased bandanas, hats, and train whistles from Amazon but I was really unsure how to present them. We had just cut back a tree in our backyard and I was looking at all of the branches and realized I could cut them to size to make ‘hobo bags.’ My husband was pretty impressed and said it was his favorite item because it was free!

If you worked with vendors, what did you love about them?

Our party was in a train car at Travel Town. We loved that it enhanced the theme of our party and we were able to ride a train around the park with all of our guests (and no clean up at home!).

What was your favorite moment of the party?

The choo-choo train ride around the park was really fun and was a great highlight of the party.

Is there anything you wish you would have done differently? If so, what?

We found out last minute that we couldn’t plug in anything additional. If I had known that I would have brought power for our iPod to play our themed music.

What was the birthday boy’s favorite moment of the party?

Our son really enjoyed the train ride around the park. He also really liked the home made cookies we made. He couldn’t wait to get his hands on them.
