Mother’s Day Letters: Jennifer’s Mama

Dear Mom,

I’ve been going over what exactly to write in this letter to you. I knew immediately when the idea was hatched with the other writers that I had to participate. Everyone needs to know what an amazing mom I have!

The words haven’t come as easily as I had hoped. How do you describe having nearly 35 years of adoration for someone simply, and clearly in a letter? I’m not sure it’s at all possible.

I know you rarely hear from any of us how well you’ve done and about the impression you’ve made in our lives. Simply put… You’re phenomenal.

I’ve always looked up to you. Now with my own baby in the picture, I look at you in a new light. Watching him reach for you when you come in and hearing his squeals of delight as you play with him make my heart ache with happiness. You’re the beast grandma he could have.

Thank you.

Thank you for the shoulder to cry on, the hand to hold. Thank you for being my bully buffer, and for supporting my crazy dreams. Thank you for showing me how to be a good mom to my child. Thank you for giving me life, and helping me become exactly what I was born to be; a mom.

Love,
Jennifer
