Postnatal Boot Camp Review and Giveaway!In my former life (pre-kiddos) I loved spending time at the gym. It was my escape from the rest of my life and the place I truly felt that I was accomplishing something just for me. After kids, my dreams of returning to the gym quickly faded. Between work, dinner, housework and caring for the causes of my weight gain… there was no time— or money— for a gym membership.

Does this sound familiar?! The good news is that it’s okay! There are plenty of things you can do from the comfort of your own home that can keep you in shape, I’m sure you’ve ‘pinned’ tons of tips to keep you on track. I’m also going to share with you my best friend as of late – Lindsay Brin!

Okay… so Lindsay may not know me personally, but I have spent a lot of time with her over the past few months so I feel like we’re best friends.

In my attempts to get my body back to its pre-pregnancy status, I purchased Lindsay Brin’s “60 Day Slim Down” series on Amazon. You can also occasionally find it on Baby Steals.

This series won’t disappoint — I promise. She has a full workout plan that you can download to use with the program and it’s phenomenal, but I must admit the Postnatal Boot Camp DVD is my absolute favorite. Let me tell you why:

  • You’re BUSY now that you’re a mama! Lindsay totally gets this because she is a mama too. She designed Postnatal Boot Camp so that you can get a workout in whether you have 15 minutes or 45 minutes to spend.
  • Doing the same workout every day gets BORING! Not only is it boring for you, but your body gets bored too and you won’t see the results you are hoping for doing the same workout every other day. Postnatal Boot Camp allows you to follow a 12-week program with pre-designed workouts based on the amount of time you have OR you can design your own workout based on how you are feeling that day!
  • I LOVE the core workouts in Postnatal Boot Camp, they are quick three-minute sections that I feel really target a number of my problem spots. Now, don’t misconstrue! You cannot spot reduce, but boy can you feel these short core workouts in all the right places! The great thing about the 60-Day Slim Down Program is that several of the DVDs target core strength and they are great to mix in to keep things interesting because, let’s face it – workout videos aren’t necessarily the most interesting thing in the world.
  • You may be rocking it one day and not at all on another – that’s okay! Lindsay has three different levels you can follow if you are either just getting back into exercising after the birth of your baby, or if you need to take your workout at an easier or tougher pace. If you are following absolute correct form, this DVD should not be easy – if you think it’s easy, either you are an absolute fitness rockstar or your form is not right. This entire series is great for a range of fitness abilities.

Overall, the entire 60-day Slim Down series is amazing; I absolutely love it! The only con for me is that I wasn’t able to follow the two-month program exactly because I often didn’t have time to switch to multiple different DVDs in one workout. I have to play DVDs in my husband’s Play Station, and figuring out all of the controller thingies once is plenty, let alone twice! For me – that was okay, I saw plenty of benefits just fitting in what I could.

That is the beauty of Postnatal Boot Camp; you make it into what you need.
