Quick and Easy Football Food

Ever wonder what to serve to a crowd during football games? Here are two quick and easy recipes for Sunday Football (or Saturday) which are sure to please any type of fan.

Easy Delicious Chili


  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 lb ground sausage (I use hot to give the chili a little kick!)
  • 1 large jar of salsa
  • 1 16oz can of kidney beans
  • 1 12-16oz can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 packet chili seasoning
  • black pepper
  • chili powder
  • shredded cheese
  • diced red onion


In a large pan, brown the sausage and turkey/beef. Dump into large pot. Add salsa, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chili seasoning and black pepper to taste. Heat to a slow boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30-45 minutes on low and voila!

Top it with diced red onion and shredded cheese and enjoy!


Buffalo Chicken Dip


  • 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Franks Red Hot Sauce (I usually use more — you can use as much as you’d like depending on your “hot meter”)
  • 1 block (8 oz.) of cream cheese (do not use fat-free)
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • shredded sharp cheddar cheese


Boil chicken breasts in a large pot for about 45 minutes. Let cool.

In a baking dish, cut your cream cheese into 1 inch cubes, top with 1 cup of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, 1 cup ranch dressing and 1-2 hearty handfuls of shredded cheese. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. Stir and return to the oven for another 15 minutes.

When the chicken is done, cool and shred. This takes awhile but it really makes the dip what it is. I normally stand over the sink with the cold water running and shred by hand.

Once the chicken is fully shredded, add it to the ranch/hot sauce mixture and combine. Top with cheese and heat for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F.

Serve with tortilla chips!
